West End Welcomes Full Cast of ‘MJ’ at Prince Edward Theatre

The West End is set to be electrified with the arrival of ‘MJ’, the critically acclaimed musical, with its full cast now announced. The production, opening at the Prince Edward Theatre, is scheduled to commence on 6 March 2024, with a special press night planned for 27 March.

‘MJ’, a theatrical sensation penned by the esteemed Lynn Nottage and choreographed by Royal Ballet associate artist Christopher Wheeldon, has already garnered widespread acclaim. The show’s narrative delves into the complexities and artistic genius of Michael Jackson, one of the most iconic figures in music history.

Leading the cast is Tony Award-winner Myles Frost, who will reprise his celebrated role from the Broadway production. Joining him are Ashley Zhangazha in the dual roles of Joseph Jackson and Rob, and Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael Jackson. The cast also includes Philippa Stefani as Rachel, Phebe Edwards portraying Katherine Jackson and Kate, and Matt Mills in the roles of Berry Gordy and Nick.

Additional cast members include Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson and Quincy Jones, Matt Gonsalves as Alejandro, Jon Tsouras as Dave, Kieran Alleyne as the alternate MJ and standby for Michael, and Kwamé Kandekore as the standby for MJ and Michael.

The ensemble boasts a wealth of talent with Derek Aidoo, Morgan Baulch, Milan Cacacie, Spencer Darlaston-Jones, Hanna Dimtsu, Aden Dzuda, Marie Finlayson, Christopher Gopaul, Kalisha Johnson, Grace Kanyamibwa, Travis Kerry, Dianté Lodge, Simeon Montague, George Ross, Lydia Sterling, Toyan Thomas-Browne, Taylor Walker, Charlotte-Kate Warren, and Tavio Wright.

The production will also feature Jaydon Eastman, Elliot Mugume, Ethan Sokontwe, and Dylan Trigger portraying Little Michael, while Cristiano Cuino, Sekhani Dumezweni, Khanya Madaka, and Aidan Oti will take on the role of Little Marlon.

‘MJ’ boasts an impressive creative team. The scenic design is by Derek McLane, lighting by Natasha Katz, costumes by Paul Tazewell, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Peter Nigrini, and hair and wig design by Charles LaPointe. The musical supervision is managed by David Holcenberg, with orchestrations and arrangements by Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb. The UK casting is overseen by Pippa Ailion CDG and Natalie Gallacher CDG, ensuring a top-tier ensemble for this much-anticipated production.
