Les Misérables Announces UK Arena Tour Cast and Dates for September Spectacular

In a thrilling announcement for theatre aficionados, the cast for the much-anticipated UK arena tour of ‘Les Misérables’ has been unveiled, featuring a star-studded lineup that includes Alfie Boe, Killian Donnelly, Michael Ball, and Bradley Jaden. The tour, dubbed ‘Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular,’ is set to begin its global journey this September, starting at Belfast’s SSE Arena. This iteration of the beloved musical expands upon the West End production with a new set design tailored for the grand scale of arena venues.

The tour is part of the 40th-anniversary celebrations of the original English stage production of ‘Les Misérables,’ which has been a fixture of the West End since 1985, marking it as the longest-running musical in the history of the celebrated theatre district. Producer Cameron Mackintosh expressed his long-held dream of bringing the musical to arenas around the world, noting that the 40th anniversary of ‘Les Mis’ is the perfect occasion for such an ambitious project.

Stellar Cast to Lead UK Performances

The UK leg of ‘Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular’ will see the pivotal role of Jean Valjean shared between Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly, while Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will take on the role of Javert. Boe, known for his powerful tenor voice and memorable performances on the West End and Broadway, is set to revisit one of his most lauded roles. Donnelly, who has recently earned acclaim for his portrayal of Valjean at London’s Sondheim Theatre and as Combeferre in the 2012 film adaptation, will offer his unique interpretation of the character.

Michael Ball, a luminary in the world of musical theatre with an extensive history of roles on the biggest stages, returns to the character of Javert, promising to bring his distinctive intensity to the role. Bradley Jaden, known for his celebrated performance as Javert at the Sondheim Theatre, completes the cast as the formidable antagonist, ensuring a lineup of extraordinary talent for these critical roles.
