Onstage Dating - Melbourne Fringe Festival 2016. Image supplied
Bron Batten has dated men all over the world. Now that she’s tried online dating, which she describes as “squeezing the rancid bowels of the internet”, she’s decided to try onstage dating.
After a brief introductory video of people judging her by her appearance alone, Bron appears on stage, covered in glowsticks and ready to party.
After that, just like in dating, you never know what is going to happen next. Bron is an endearing oddball; you want to get to know her better. But when she pulls someone out of the audince to date, how far will they go? Will they get through dinner and move to the couch?
You wonder how much of the show is staged; her date last night was so confident and quick-witted, he seemed like he could have been a plant. And yet there were other moments he was nervous. Was he faking it? Don’t we all do that a little on a first date?
Go see Onstage Dating; not for actual dating tips, but for to see how far Bron and her date will go.
