Hello there theatre lovers,
Oh how time flies, and there goes the first month of the year!
Welcome to your final weekly update for January from AussieTheatre HQ.
First up, the Australia Day honours list was announced this week, naming some amazing contributors to the Australian Arts community. A huge congratulations to all those recognised on behalf of the entire team at AussieTheatre.com.
It was also announced this week that Marvel Universe Live will be adding an Auslan interpreted performance to their schedule in Sydney. This marks the second Auslan interpreted production in two weeks, following the announcement by Shrek the Musical last week.
ORiGiN Theatrical announced yesterday that they will now be representing the Nick Hern Books play catalogue in Australia, opening up some amazing performance opportunities for Australian theatre companies.
In international news, Tina Fey turned heads this week with the announcement that Mean Girls the Musical would be getting a film adaptation, read Gabi’s story here.
And in the world of cabaret, there were a number of exciting announcements this week including Arts Centre Melbourne & Fat Fruit announcing the presentation of F*ck Fabulous; and Vincent Hooper announced performance dates in Melbourne and Sydney to launch his new album, ‘Here Today, Gone Tomorrow’.
Check out all these stories and more in the newsletter below and over at AussieTheatre.com.
Finally, for the next few weeks, AussieTheatre.com will be publishing a weekly video from The Tarot Chick. She will be doing a weekly reading for us, hoping to shed some light on what the future has in store for the entertainment industry, stay tuned for that.
Well, that’s all from me for now. I hope you have an amazing week ahead and you see some great entertainment.
Best Wishes
