We Will Rock You cancels final two seasons

The Australian tour of We Will Rock You will be cut short, with seasons cancelled in both Perth and Adelaide.

A message on the official We Will Rock You website cites “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the cancellations in both cities, leaving a gap in the programming at Perth’s Crown Theatre from 15 November and Adelaide’s Festival Theatre from 31 December.

The show, which opened in Sydney on April 28 this year, is playing out its final week in Brisbane before heading to Melbourne to complete its scheduled season (August 28 – October 23) at The Regent Theatre.

Produced by GFO, Queen Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre and Tribeca Theatrical Productions, We Will Rock You features the music of Queen in a futuristic setting, with 24 of Queen’s greatest hits peppered throughout the musical.

Gareth Keegan and Erin Clare star in this revival production, with Casey Donovan, Brian Mannix, Thern Reynolds and Jaz Flowers in supporting roles.

If you currently hold tickets for any performances in Perth or Adelaide, visit the official website for refund details.

  • I am devastated by this cancellation in Adelaide. I bought my ticket many months ago, and so looked forwarded to seeing the show in January. My ticket money was refunded but I'd rather see the show. I feel VERY let down.

  • It's the second time it's been cancelled. Last year as well and put to 2023 now cancelled again.
I was looking forward to hearing/seeing Rob Mills, Courtney Act in this production especially but I won't support them next time they come. Adelaide misses out all the time. Not knowing the reason for another cancellation just feel totally let down when Adelaide was excitedly supporting this show. So sorry it had to be cancelled but won't be paying for it again if it comes back.
