Members of the touring cast of Wicked attended a preview performance of the World Premiere musical An Officer and a Gentleman this week to cheer on their ex-green girl Amanda Harrison.
The Australian cast of Wicked is currently preparing for an extended season in South Korea, and welcomed the chance to attend the second preview of this brand new work.
Set to open on May 18 at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre, An Officer and a Gentleman is still undergoing changes during the preview season, but as co-producer and co-writer Sharleen Cooper Cohen told AussieTheatre, perfection is the goal.
“We are thrilled to do this wonderful show in Australia. I think that’s our main objective right now — to perfect it for the Australian audiences”, said Cooper Cohen.
Wicked cast member Stephanie Morrison (Nessarose and Glinda cover) expressed her delight at the rare opportunity to support colleagues in the lead up to such a momentous event.
“For many of us in the industry, it’s difficult to see other shows, as we are often on the same performance schedule, or we are away on tour”, she said.
“Wicked has been in Singapore until recently, but we are lucky to be back in the country now to see the Officer previews. It’s just so wonderful to be able to support our colleagues”, she said.
Wicked and An Officer and a Gentleman are both produced by John Frost (GFO).
