Trevor Ashley frocks up for new show

Trevor Ashley

What would it take to get the world’s biggest divas in showbiz to perform on the same stage together?

A Royal Command Performance? The combined economies of several small African nations? Bindi Irwin’s death? No, it would take 27 dresses, 14 wigs and one incredibly exhausted performer.

Dean Bryant will direct uber-legend Trevor Ashley in the world premiere of the divinely decadent drag diva degustation experience, I’m Every Woman, as part of House Cabaret.

Blessed with the vocal chops to deliver your favourite divas and the lamb chops to fill out their costumes, Ashley brings his award-winning talents to the first venue where they don’t need to clean the seats after the performance.

Direct from the massive hit Liza (On an E), Trashley (as he’s known to the glitterati and Grindr communities) will bring glamour back to The Studio as he revels his greatest tits for four shows only from July 7 to 10.

Transforming into the world’s legendary divas with the help of a smokin’ four-piece band, a cavalcade of smash hit songs, and one extremely hard-working wind machine, he’ll breathe life into Judy, Dusty and with any luck, Whitney and new life into Liza and Tina and Cher – oh my!

He’s every woman…well every talented one, anyway.

Dubbed ‘Mardi Gras royalty’ by the media, Ashley is best known for his show-stopping turn as Miss Understanding in the world premiere production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert – the Musical, a role he played in over 600 performances between Sydney and Melbourne.

Since then, he has created and produced the cabaret phenomenon Showqueen, which has showcased over 100 cabaret performers at the Supper Club over the past two years.

With drag star Courtney Act, Ashley also created and starred in Gentlemen Prefer Blokes, a sell out at Mardi Gras, at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, at His Majesty’s Theatre in Perth and in the Melbourne Midsumma Festival. He followed this with Gale Edward’s massive hit, Jerry Springer the Opera at Sydney Opera House.

I’m Every Woman is at The Studio in Sydney from July 7. Bookings: (02) 9250 7777.
