This Week in Musical Theatre – 22 August 2015
The week that was:
- The Australian cast of the brand new production, Georgy Girl – the Seekers Musical, was announced.
- Hugh Jackman is bringing a five-city arena concert tour, Broadway to Oz, to Australia, opening in late November in Melbourne. Tickets go on sale on Monday and are available through Ticketek.
- Delta Goodrem released a video on social media of her and the cast of Cats performing a cover of new single ‘Wings’.
- In news that could see musical theatre return to the STC, they announced Jonathan Church as their new Artistic Director this week.
What to watch out for Next Week:
- High Society has their first performance at the Hayes Theatre on Friday.
- Anything Goes begins bump in into the Opera House on Monday with shows from 5 September.
- We are expecting announcements from both Dirty Dancing and Sound of Music early next week, so stay tuned.
