The smash-hit cult cabaret An Evening Without Kate Bush is coming to Arts Centre Melbourne in 2025

Enter Strange Phenomena, howl with the Hounds of Love and dance on the moors with Wuthering Heights, the smash-hit cult cabaret An Evening Without Kate Bush makes its Victorian debut at Arts Centre Melbourne from 5 – 8 February 2025.

Adored by critics and audiences alike, the production pays glorious tribute to the music, fans (known as Fish People) and mythology of one of the most influential voices in pop music.

With inventive stagecraft, a wildly wonderful voice and mesmerising performance from Sarah-Louise Young, the show based on years of Bush-related research, delves into the phenomenal fan base that Kate Bush has inspired since she first topped the UK charts in 1978.

An Evening Without Kate Bush features classic hits ‘Running Up That Hill’, ‘Cloudbusting’ and ‘The Man With The Child In His Eyes’.

It also throws in some unexpected B-sides and Bootlegs alongside unique takes on songs like ‘This Woman’s Work’ and ‘Babooshka’.

Co-created by Sarah-Louise Young and Russell Lucas, the production has had had three sold-out, critically acclaimed runs at Edinburgh Fringe, two Soho Theatre seasons and 2020-2023 UK tours. It tours Australia and New Zealand in 2025 having last played to full houses at Sydney Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Perth’s Fringe World in 2024 and Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2023, among others.

Whether a fan for decades or recently joined the shoal via Stranger Things, An Evening Without Kate Bush beckons audiences to release their inner Bush and celebrate this joyful, unique and mind-blowing show.
