Producer Enda Markey has now revealed a host of Australian music theatre stars, who will join Henshall onstage for this charity concert in support of the White Ribbon Foundation, Australia’s campaign to stop violence against women.

It is understood that more than 20 Australian artists will be taking part in the event, including Peter Cousens (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera), Michael Falzon (We Will Rock You), Ben Lewis (Love Never Dies), Stephen Mahy (Jersey Boys), Anna O’Byrne (Love Never Dies) and Maria Mercedes (Love Never Dies, Sunset Blvd).

One of Australia’s best loved actresses, Amanda Muggleton will also make an appearance along with Geraldine Turner, who is recognised around the world as one of the foremost interpreters of Stephen Sondheim’s work.

Side By Side By Sondheim is a musical revue which celebrates the work of legendary Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim, featuring Send In The Clowns, Broadway Baby, Losing My Mind and Being Alive.

“This is a concert version of the show that will be touring Australia throughout 2012. Obviously the concert version only has four people in it, and this has 25”, Producer Markey said.

The touring company of Side By Side By Sondheim (Rachael Beck, Margi de Ferranti, Enda Markey and narrator Jessica Rowe) will also be joining the star-studded cast before continuing performances of the revue scheduled in Bathurst, Orange, Canberra and Geelong throughout 2012.

This exclusive appearance marks Henshall’s Australian debut and she is thrilled to make the trip down under.

“I have always dreamed of singing in Sydney and to combine it with this worthycause is tremendous. I am beyond excited!”, she said.

There are only 1000 seats on sale for this event, so be sure to get in early and purchase your ticket to support the White Ribbon Foundation. Don’t miss this chance to see Ruthie Henshall and the cream of Australia’s music theatre talent, side by side!
