Second Broadway Unplugged event confirmed, Sydney

AussieTheatre can exclusively announce that Broadway Unplugged will return to the Vanguard, Newtown this month on Monday July 30.

Broadway Unplugged is Sydney’s lastest industry event with featured performers from 8pm and an open mic night from 9pm.

The enormous success Broadway Unplugged’s inaugural Sydney concert last month set the music theatre world alight with alacrity and enthusiasm.

Producer George Youakim of James Anthony Productions is keen to establish the event as a comfortable environment for performers to showcase their talents, practice their next audition piece or just get up and perform, worry-free!

Musical Director Bev Kennedy and her band The Beverages will once again feature on stage this month, as they provide accompaniment for the featured performers and open mic participants.

Hosted by Jeremy Brennan (Jersey Boys), Broadway Unplugged July will feature guest artists Daniel Belle (Jerry Springer), Toby Francis (Cabaret Showcase Winner 2010) and Marika Aubrey (South Pacific) from 8pm and an open mic party from 9pm. Tapas, pizza and drinks will be available from 7pm when the doors of the Vanguard open.

Registrations for open mic participants will open on broadwayunplugged.com shortly, so get your sheet music in order and warm up your vocal chords in preparation for the event Sydney is going mad for!

“Whether you are a professional performer, an emerging artist or just interested in getting up and performing your favourite song, Broadway Unplugged is a great opportunity to showcase your talents” producer Youakim said.

Entry to the event is free, so come along and support Australian talent and enjoy the world class performances on offer at Broadway Unplugged.

Broadway Unplugged is presented by George Youakim of James Anthony Productions and supported by AussieTheatre.
