From 9am this morning, Sydney Theatre Company is opening up sales for the second half of its anticipated 2013 season, featuring celebrated Australian talent such as Cate Blanchett, Isabelle Huppert, Richard Roxburgh, Hugo Weaving, Tim Minchin, and Toby Schmitz.
First up in the second half of the year is Andrew Upton’s take on Genet’s The Maids, featuring Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert.
Hugo Weaving and Richard Roxburgh will reunite with their Uncle Vanya director Tamás Ascher for Waiting For Godot. Another week of performances for this production have already been added due to early interest.
Tom Stoppard’s comic classic Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead will be directed by Simon Stone and headlined by two of the sharpest in the business, Tim Minchin and Toby Schmitz.
The first two shows of STC’s first season – The Secret River and School Dance – both completely sold out. Their next production, Mrs Warren’s Profession, a Shavian classic featuring Simon Burke, Lizzie Schebesta and and Helen Thomson, will have a two and a half week reprise season in July.
Tickets – and information on the entire STC 2013 season – are available on their website, www.sydneytheatre.com.au or you can call 02 9250 1777.
