QTC nurtures the seeds of art: SeedingBed

SeedingBed – QTC

The GreenHouse raises a new crop.

SeedingBed is a new program by the Queensland Theatre Company that aims to “grow” promising new artists.

Ten actors worked with playwrights and directors to bring seven projects to life over the six week program and the fruits of their labour have been been on show at Billie Brown Studio during July.

SeedingBed nurtures new work, new artists, and new ideas that push the boundaries of what Queensland Theatre Company can achieve.

Four works have been presented so far and to round out the program, SeedingBed is presenting three finalists from the 2012 Queensland Premier’s Drama Award; Bastard Territory by Stephen Carleton (Directed by Todd MacDonald) on Friday July 27, The Empty City by David Megarrity (Directed by David Fenton) showing on Saturday 28, Trollop by Maxine Mellor (Directed by Todd MacDonald) also showing on Saturday 28.

The winner of the 2012 Queensland Premier’s Drama Award is yet to be announced, but due any day. So get along to the GreenHouse to see the finalists and judge for yourself.

Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased online at www.queenslandtheatre.com.au
