Music stars unite at DUETS concert

Rob Mills will host the DUETS concert this year

DUETS (formerly known as Dueting it for the Kids) is a unique concert unlike anything else staged in Australia, and will be staged at Sydney’s State Theatre this year on August 20. The show will bring together the best of the music industry in a concert of duets to support the Australian Children’s Music Foundation (ACMF).

This year’s line up is spectacular and will feature: Christine Anu, Ray Beadle, Rachael Beck, David Campbell, Abby Dobson, Casey Donovan, Lucy Durack, Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus), Tim Finn, Tim Freedman, Mark Gable (Choirboys), Lara Goodridge, Angie Hart (Frente!), Barry Leef, Darryl & Harmony Lovegrove, Rob Mills, Mirusia, Sam Moran, James Morrison, Ian Moss, Shannon Noll, Doug Parkinson, Dale Ryder (Boom Crash Opera), Leo Sayer, Danielle Spencer, Don Spencer, Timomatic, Monica Trapaga, Jack Vidgen, Mark Vincent, Megan Washington, John Waters and Mark Williams (Dragon).

The MCs for the night will be Rob Mills and Ian “Dicko” Dickson with Paul Gray once again taking up the baton as Music Director.

These once-in-a-lifetime collaborations between artists are a joy to behold as they leave their comfort zones and embark on a musical journey with, quite often, a fellow artist they’ve only just met. Some of the collaborations already confirmed for this year include Megan Washington with Tim Finn, John Waters with Christine Anu, Ian Moss with James Morrison, and Angie Hart with Dave Faulkner.

All funds raised at this event go towards music programs that the ACMF run for disadvantaged and Indigenous youth across Australia.  More than 75% of public schools in Australia do not have the funds to provide a specialised music teacher. The ACMF passionately believe that no child should be deprived of a music education.

Tickets on sale from 9.00am Monday, 18 June. Book via www.ticketmaster.com.au
