Matthew Lee Robinson returns to Australia for New Voices workshops

Matthew Lee Robinson is a Churchill Fellowship winner, an Australia Council Music Fellowship awardee, a UTAS Stephen Schwartz Songwriting Award winner, a Helpmann-nominated composer/lyricist and one of the world’s most exciting new music theatre composers.

Matthew Lee Robinson

AND. He’s coming back to Australia this year for his New Voices workshops in Adelaide and Melbourne.

Are you excited yet? You should be.

Applications are now open for Robinson’s exclusive New Voices – the only Australian musical theatre workshop and showcase series in which participants work on material with the composer who created it. It’s a gift for any musical theatre performer and a selection of lucky participants in both cities will be afforded the opportunity to learn from one of the best.

New Voices will come to Adelaide from 28 April and Melbourne from 4 June 2016 and a limited number of positions are available in each workshop. In both cities, every selected participant will personally be assigned a song from Robinson’s catalogue of award-winning musicals. Participants will then receive a private coaching session, participate in a two-day group workshop and feature in an exclusive showcase concert.

New Voices has previously sold out in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and twice in Melbourne, so early applications are a must.

An early application discount applies for successful Adelaide and Melbourne applicants who submit by Tuesday, 5 April, with final applications closing 12 April in Adelaide and 19 April in Melbourne.

Once the Application Form has been submitted, a vocal sample preferably in the form of a video link (e.g. YouTube) or alternatively as an mp3, submitted within 2 days to complete the application. The song choice should be musical theatre in style.

Robinson’s music has most recently been heard in concert across the United States at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, the Junior Thespian Festival in Dallas and the Lincoln Center Broadway’s Future Songbook Series in New York City.

New Voices applications are open now at www.matthewleerobinson.com/new-voices
