Long awaited Melbourne debut for world-renowned tenor Michael Fabiano

Celebrated American tenor Michael Fabiano will make his Melbourne debut on Sunday 12 February, bestowing his rich vocal talents on audiences in a one-night-only concert performance at Melbourne City Recital Hall.

In what will be his first ever Australian solo recital, Michael Fabiano in Concert will include a selection of impressive tenor arias by some of the greatest opera composers including Puccini, Verdi, Tosti and Duparc. It is a rare chance for audiences to experience his powerful and emotive stage presence.

Hailed as one of the world’s best young tenors, Fabiano has performed at famous opera houses across the world, from New York’s Metropolitan Opera to Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He is praised as an ardent and committed performer, his rich tenor boasts ringing top notes and is matched by dashing dramatics and a “magnetic stage presence” (Sydney Morning Herald).

Accompanying Fabiano will be distinguished pianist and vocal coach Laurent Phillippe who has helped develop many young opera singers to international acclaim. An exquisite performer in his own right, a previous concert performance with Fabiano noted the “elegant pianism of Laurent Philippe” and praised his performance for “coaxing the most amazing colors and textures out of that Yamaha [piano].” (The Dallas Morning News).

The award-winning Fabiano will also perform in Adriana Lecouvreur with Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House from 20 February to 7 March.
