Last night (Thursday) in New Zealand, the Australian production of the hit musical Jersey Boys celebrated its 1,000th Australiasian performance, having smashed the all-time box office record for a second week of trading in Auckland by taking in excess of $NZ 1.9 million gross.

Beating previous records by over $NZ 500,000 is a great birthday present for producer, Rodney Rigby who says “We are thrilled that New Zealand continues to embrace the great story of four guys from the wrong side of the tracks.  The 1,000th show not only marks the great success of the production in New Zealand and Australia, but, of equal importance, recognizes the outstanding contribution of everybody associated with the production worldwide”.

Following the season in Auckland, Jersey Boys will play in Brisbane and Adelaide.
