Directed by Dame Julie Andrews, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli (Newsies) and produced by John Frost and Opera Australia, the 60th anniversary production of My Fair Lady is an understandably hot topic. The list of BIG names associated with this production (both on and off the stage) is staggering and today, there is even more exciting news from the My Fair Lady camp.
Slated to play at The Regent Theatre, and confirmed to star Anna O’Byrne as Eliza Doolittle, My Fair Lady will commence Melbourne performances on 11 May 2017.
O’Byrne was last seen on stage in Melbourne as Maria in The Production Company’s acclaimed West Side Story in 2015. She also starred as Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, which opened at the Regent Theatre in 2011 and was recorded at the venue for international cinema and DVD release.
Further casting for the Melbourne run will be confirmed at a later date. Tickets will be on sale from October.
