F****** HAPPY NOW, CASEY!? The Book of Mormon celebrate their first preview in the best way possible

One of the most anticipated musicals of the decade is beginning public performances today! The Book of Mormon have their first public preview at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne tonight.

As previously reported, tickets for tonights performance were released for $20 in a first come first served box office only sale. The box office was inundated with hopeful fans lining up around the block to gain access to the $20 tickets. There were even some die hard fans camping out the night before to make sure they secured theirs.

The irreverent musical, from the creators of the animated TV show South Park, celebrated their opening preview by taking out full page ads replying to a fan’s Twitter rant.

The original tweets were posted by @capitarno in 2012 and 2013 respectively, it looks like it took a while, but Casey finally got what she was after.

The Book Of Mormon opened on Broadway in March 2011 and has played 253 consecutive weeks at more than 100% capacity. The London production has also sold out every one of its 1225 performances on the West End.

The official opening night of the Australian production is set for the 4 February 2017.
