Exclusive Audition Video: Brent Hill & Virginia Gay audition for Daisy & Violet in SIDE SHOW!

Two days to go! The cast of Side Show at Sydney’s Hayes Theatre will be announced on Sunday 7 August. And what a time it’s been waiting for this announcement. Our “guy on the inside” has been sending us audition tapes, and we’ve been blown away by these totally legit twin pairings!  Debora Krizak and Rowena Vilar, Nancye Hayes and Hilary Cole, Lara Mulcahy and Sheridan Harbridge… And we have one last reel to share before we know who’s been cast in the starring twin roles.

Virginia Gay & Brent Hill

Side Show, with with book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger, this musical about sisterhood is based on the real-life conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, the highest-paid stars of vaudeville in the 1930s.

This week, Brent Hill (Little Shop of Horrors, which started at the Hayes and is now playing in Perth after a successful Sydney return season at the Roslyn Packer Theatre) and Virginia Gay (Calamity Jane, which is currently playing – and sold out! – at the Hayes), self-described “actors of the world,” might seem like an unlikely pair. They don’t exactly look alike.

But, Virginia says, “we’re going to transform.” Because they are Serious Actors. And they’ll prove it. With Tennessee Williams.

Just watch the video. Trust me.

Side Show opens at the Hayes Theatre on 23 September 2016. For tickets and info, click here. For more fun with Side Show, the Hilton sisters, sisterhood and more, follow the show on Facebook & Twitter!
