Diamond is cabaret’s best friend – one night only (twice)

Dolly Diamond and Luke Gallagher

One of Australia and Britain’s most loved cabaret and drag performers, Dolly Diamond, will be joining forces with cabaret impresario Luke Gallagher this weekend in their brand new show ONE NIGHT ONLY (TWICE).

The pair will take to the Theatre Works stage in St Kilda on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st of March backed by a 14 piece big band and a whole lot of spunk.

“We’re thrilled to be back with a new cabaret show featuring our very own Big Band at Theatre Works, St Kilda”, Luke Gallagher told AussieTheatre.

Featuring a host of new material and fabulous big band arrangements, this much-loved dynamic cabaret duo will be sending Dolly Diamond off on her upcoming UK tour with a bang!
The Big Band sound is set to provide a sensational backing to the hits of Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, James Brown, Tom Jones, Joe Cocker and Whitney Houston and a host of other anthems delivered with gusto by this sensational team.

Green Room and ALSO Award-winning cabaret performer Luke Gallagher has performed numerous times around Australia and in London with Dolly Diamond and has also been seen around Australia, New York and Berlin with his cabaret trio Friends of Barbra. In 2011 he was seen as part of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival in his solo show The Gospel According to Luke.

Dolly is one of the biggest acts in the UK, but she (and her alter ego Michael Dalton) now call Australia home.

Dolly and Luke have enjoyed three sell-out Melbourne seasons together in recent years as well as highly successful touring seasons around Australia and the UK.

“Dolly Diamond is heading back to the UK for six months to tour the Mother Country and Europe so this is our last show with a Big Band until 2013”, Gallagher said.

So come down to Theatre Works and swoon to the sassy musical stylings of Dolly Diamond and Luke Gallagher in One Night Only (Twice) in this big, brassy and beautiful cabaret event!
