With two successful Sydney events under its belt, Australia’s freshest industry event, Broadway Unplugged, is now heading to Brisbane!

George Youakim and James Anthony Productions will launch Broadway Unplugged – Brisbane on Monday 6 August at Stockholm Syndrome, Brisbane’s newest cabaret venue in Albion, with a host of Australia’s brightest musical theatre stars on show.

The free event will feature Amelia Cormack, who has recently enjoyed a stint on London’s West End as a Diva in Priscilla, a role she originated in the Sydney production. Songsmith Michael Griffiths (We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys), Cameron MacDonald (Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia & Jersey Boys) and Brisbane’s own chanteuse extraordinaire Naomi Price will also be featured performers at this inaugural event.

Following the featured artists, host Jeremy Brennan (Jersey Boys) will kick of an open-mic event, which is aimed at both professionals and up-and-coming performers. Eligible open-mic participants will have the opportunity to compete for a coveted showcase opportunity at the 2012 Brisbane Cabaret Festival. (More details to come).
