Best We Forget: Adelaide Fringe Hit to Make Sydney Premiere

Best We ForgetThe Tamarama Rock Surfers will kick off their 2012 season at the Old Fitzroy next month with the premiere Sydney Production of Best We Forget, a fringe darling conceived and performed by ensemble company isthisyours?

Best We Forget aims to approach a serious idea in a ridiculous manner and ridiculous ideas in a serious manner. It uses panel discussion, film clip choreography, action films, power ballads and audio commentary to explore how forgetting, and our desire not to be forgotten, impacts our daily lives.

The premiere will also be the debut in Sydney for the company. Director and isthisyours? collaborator Tessa Leong says:

“It’s really exciting for us as an ensemble to present a work that we know has resonated so strongly with audiences… whilst there were many laughs, we were surprised how many people were moved by our thoughts on immortality, legacy, and leaving our mark. We can’t wait to hear the responses and reactions from the Sydney folk.”

Darkly comic and intriguing, this late-night documentary of a performance is set to push theatre in a brave new direction, and provide a solid start to the 2012 season for the Old Fitzroy Theatre.
