Annie’s advance ticket sales boom, Melbourne

According to producer John Frost, his 2012 Australian revival of the smash hit Broadway musical Annie has sold over eighty thousand advance tickets for its upcoming Melbourne season.

The official opening performance will take place tomorrow (Tuesday May 29) at the Regent Theatre starring Anthony Warlow, Todd McKenney, Nancye Hayes and Chloe Dallimore. Annie has already enjoyed successful seasons in Sydney and Brisbane and will continue its Australian tour in Perth later this year.

The coveted role of Annie has been performed by six different Australian girls so far this year, (three in Sydney and three in Brisbane) and Melbourne will see three more young share the title role in this limited 12 week season – Monique Heath, Caitlin Marks and Hattie Hook.

The three casts of orphans will be made up of Lucinda Armstrong Hall, Georgia Barbuto, Teagan Bartolo, Quinn Cameron, Eliza Carlin, Stella Carroll, Claudia Chayna, Sarah Croce, Wren Gillett, Jasmine Goldberg, Cheyenne Griggs, Kandice Joye, Madison Lu, Amy Lyon, Paris Mahar, Isabella Meilak, Bronte Muir, Maddison Padula, Maxine Palmerson, Mietta White and Mackensie Young.
