New West End Cast Announced for Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap
The legendary murder mystery The Mousetrap, the world’s longest-running play, has revealed its new cast for the West End production. As of 18 November 2024, a fresh company of actors takes the stage under the direction of Philip Franks, marking an exciting new chapter for this iconic production.
Joining the cast are:
- Lara Lemon (Witness for the Prosecution) as Mollie Ralston
- Harry Bradley (The Play That Goes Wrong) as Giles Ralston
- Richard Leeming (The Haunting) as Christopher Wren
- Rekha John-Cheriyan (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) as Mrs Boyle
- Owen Oakeshott (Land of the Free) as Major Metcalf
- Grace Darling (Queen) as Miss Casewell
- Alasdair Buchan (Accolade) as Mr Paravicini
- Daniel Rainford (Laughing Boy) as Detective Sgt Trotter
The ensemble also includes Liv Koplick, Clive Marlowe, Richard Parnwell, Ben Riddle, and Cathryn Sherman, who will serve as understudies.
Philip Franks directs this new staging, while Denise Silvey continues as artistic director. The production remains under the stewardship of producer Brian Fenty, ensuring its timeless appeal is preserved for new and returning audiences.
The Mousetrap premiered at Theatre Royal Nottingham in 1952 before embarking on a UK tour. It opened in London’s West End shortly thereafter, where it has played continuously ever since, securing its title as the longest-running play in history. Currently, the play is also delighting audiences across the UK as part of a special 70th-anniversary tour.
