The West End hit musical ‘Mamma Mia!’ has announced an extension of its booking period into 2025. The beloved production, renowned for its energetic ABBA anthems and heartwarming storyline, marked a quarter of a century on stage on April 6, 2024.

Since its premiere on April 6, 1999, ‘Mamma Mia!’ has captivated audiences worldwide, being performed in 16 different languages and amassing over $4 billion at the box office. This does not even take into account the phenomenal success of its cinematic adaptations, which further cemented the musical’s place in pop culture history.

Originally debuting at the Prince Edward Theatre, the show later graced the stages of the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004 and found its current home at the Novello Theatre in 2012. The production’s longevity and success have made it a staple of London’s theatre scene, drawing visitors from around the globe.

The current cast features Mazz Murray as Donna, Kate Graham as Tanya, Nicola-Dawn Brook as Rosie, among others, with a dynamic ensemble completing the lineup. Notably, Stevie Doc as Sophie and Tobias Turley as Sky clinched their roles through the hit ITV talent show ‘Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream,’ showcasing the musical’s ongoing influence on both stage and screen.

The musical’s enduring appeal is credited to the timeless songs of ABBA, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and the creative vision of writer Catherine Johnson, director Phyllida Lloyd, and choreographer Anthony Van Laast. With Mark Thompson’s set design, Howard Harrison’s lighting, and the musical expertise of Martin Koch, the production continues to be a visual and auditory spectacle.
