Leslie Odom Jr. to Revisit Aaron Burr Role for Hamilton’s Milestone Anniversary

NEW YORK—Broadway veteran Leslie Odom Jr. will return to the stage of the landmark musical Hamilton this fall, rejoining the production to help commemorate its 10th anniversary on Broadway. He is set to reprise the role of Aaron Burr for a 12-week engagement, running from September 9 through November 23.

Odom was part of Hamilton from its earliest stages, originating the role of Burr during the show’s off-Broadway run at The Public Theater. After transitioning to Broadway, he remained with the musical for its initial years, earning a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

Since stepping away from Hamilton, Odom’s career has spanned an array of high-profile projects, including appearances in television series such as Love in the Time of Corona, Abbott Elementary, and The Good Wife. He has also taken on film roles in The Many Saints of Newark, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and The Exorcist: Believer. Onstage, he returned to Broadway in Purlie Victorious and Gutenberg! The Musical!.

With the upcoming anniversary performances, Odom will once again join the show that propelled him to nationwide fame. Hamilton itself has proven to be one of Broadway’s biggest hits, grossing more than $1 billion and continuing to draw enthusiastic audiences after over 3,380 performances. Only The Lion King, Wicked, and The Phantom of the Operahave earned higher totals—although Hamilton crossed the billion-dollar threshold in a shorter amount of time than those other three productions.

The 10th anniversary marks a significant moment not just for the musical’s overall legacy, but also for Odom personally. He first encountered Hamilton at a workshop during its developmental phase, making the show’s continued cultural and financial success an especially noteworthy chapter in his own creative journey. Fans and theater enthusiasts alike now eagerly await his return, anticipating a reunion that signals both a celebration of the production’s enduring impact and a nod to one of its most influential original cast members.
