Les Misérables Arena Tour Kicks Off Tonight in Belfast

Get ready to hear the powerhouse voices of an all-star cast as the Les Misérables arena tour kicks off tonight in Belfast! This spectacular production has been specially designed for arenas and large theatres, with audiences ranging from 3,000 to 5,000. With over 110 actors, musicians, and crew, it’s an expanded version of the hit concert staging that wowed crowds in the West End back in 2019.

This iconic musical follows the journey of Jean Valjean, a former convict seeking redemption in the midst of revolutionary France. Based on Victor Hugo’s epic novel, it features unforgettable music by Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, with additional material and adaptations by some of theatre’s greatest talents.

The UK tour features some of the best talent around, including Alfie Boe and Killian Donnelly, who will share the role of Valjean. Meanwhile, Michael Ball and Bradley Jaden will take turns as the relentless Javert. Keep an eye out for these two powerhouses on the European leg of the tour, with stops in Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and Norway. Swedish star Peter Jöback will also join the cast for three special dates in Sweden.

The brilliant Bonnie Langford will bring her signature flair to Madame Thénardier, while Gavin Lee joins as Thénardier. Jac Yarrow takes on the role of Marius, Beatrice Penny-Touré plays Cosette, Channah Hewitt stars as Fantine, and James D Gish appears as Enjolras. Jeremy Secomb takes on the role of the Bishop of Digne. For fans of Miss Saigon, Emily Bautista will play Éponine in the UK performances in Belfast, Glasgow, Sheffield, and Aberdeen.

The tour kicks off tonight at Belfast’s SSE Arena, where it will run until September 28 before heading to Glasgow, Sheffield, and Aberdeen throughout October. After its UK run, the production will embark on its European leg with stops in Luxembourg, Geneva, Trieste, Milan, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Zurich, before returning to the UK for dates in Manchester and Newcastle over the holidays.

The fun doesn’t stop there! In 2025, the tour will mark the 40th anniversary of Les Misérables, heading to Sweden, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea, with even more international dates planned in North and South America.

Tickets for the UK and European dates are on sale now, so don’t miss your chance to experience the revolutionary tale live in an arena near you!
