Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman’s Together Sets Audible Release Dates for 2026 Season

Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman’s theatrical company Together has confirmed the global audio release dates for productions from its second repertory season at New York’s Minetta Lane Theatre.

Presented with Audible Theater, the season concluded on June 14 with the final performance of What Happened Was…, following the close of New Born on June 8. The programme also included a return engagement of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, which ran from March 17 to May 20. All three productions were directed by Ian Rickson.

What Happened Was…, Tom Noonan’s play receiving its first major revival, starred Corey Stoll and Cecily Strong. It will be released worldwide as an Audible Original on October 29, 2026.

New Born, written by Ella Hickson and originally commissioned by Sonia Friedman Productions and Audible Theater, featured three monologues performed by Marianna Gailus, Jackman and Sepideh Moafi. Its Audible Original release is set for January 28, 2027.

The season opened with Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, starring Ella Beatty opposite Jackman. That production is already available to stream on Audible.

Friedman and Jackman described the second season as a meaningful continuation of Together’s mission to create intimate, actor-focused theatre that can reach audiences beyond the venue. They credited Rickson, the writers, performers and Audible Theater’s team, led by Kate Navin, for helping shape a season built around accessibility, connection and shared storytelling.

Accessibility remained a central part of the company’s model. According to Together and Audible Theater, 25 per cent of tickets for every performance were made available for $35 on the day of the show. Across the season, more than 11,000 accessibly priced and complimentary tickets were distributed.

The partnership also continued its work with TDF, offering 50 complimentary tickets per performance to community organisations across the tri-state area.

Both What Happened Was… and New Born included dedicated matinee performances featuring understudies Atra Asdou, Sophia Talwalkar and R.J. Foster.

Navin praised the collaboration with Friedman, Jackman and Rickson, noting that the project reflected Audible Theater’s goal of making high-quality theatre available both in person and to listeners worldwide.

Together was launched by Friedman and Jackman to stage fully rehearsed productions in intimate spaces, with a focus on ensemble performance, affordable tickets and broader access. The company has also indicated plans to bring future productions to the U.K.
