Disney’s Aladdin announces open auditions for UK & Ireland tour

Exciting news for aspiring performers! The highly anticipated Aladdin UK and Ireland tour has just announced an open call for singers and dancers to join the upcoming production. This Disney musical is looking for talented individuals to take on various roles, including Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, Jafar, the Sultan, Babkak, Omar, Kassim, Iago, as well as male and female dancers.

Disney’s Aladdin the musical is a stage adaptation of the popular 1992 animated film, Aladdin, produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. The story is set in the fictional city of Agrabah and follows the adventures of a young street urchin named Aladdin, who falls in love with Princess Jasmine, the beautiful daughter of the Sultan.

Aladdin’s life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a magic lamp containing a powerful genie, who grants him three wishes. With the help of the genie, Aladdin attempts to win the heart of Princess Jasmine and defeat the evil Jafar, the Grand Vizier, who has his own plans for the genie and the throne of Agrabah.

The musical features many of the beloved songs from the original film, including “Friend Like Me,” “Prince Ali,” and “A Whole New World,” as well as new songs written specifically for the stage production. The show also features stunning sets, colorful costumes, and dazzling choreography, making it a truly magical experience for audiences of all ages.

 

The show has emphasized its deep appreciation for the rich and diverse cultures of the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. So whether you’re from the MENASA community or not, if you’re 18 years old and above and eligible to work in the UK, you’re invited to audition.

The initial casting call will be held online, with submissions due by March 10th at the latest. Applicants will be expected to submit footage of themselves either singing or dancing, depending on their preference.
