Broadway Welcomes Additional Cast for ‘Cabaret’ Revival

New York, NY – The eagerly anticipated Broadway revival of ‘Cabaret’ has announced its additional cast lineup for its upcoming New York run. Set to commence previews at the August Wilson Theatre on April 1, with an official opening night slated for April 21, the production promises to be a theatrical highlight of the spring season.

Joining the already stellar cast, which includes Ato Blankson-Wood as Cliff, Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, and Eddie Redmayne in his Olivier Award-winning role as the Emcee, are several talented performers. The newly announced cast members include Gabi Campo in the role of Frenchie, Ayla Ciccone-Burton as Helga, and Colin Cunliffe portraying Hans. Notably, Marty Lauter, familiar to TV audiences from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ will take on the role of Victor.

Director Rebecca Frecknall’s reimagining of ‘Cabaret’ has already garnered acclaim in London’s West End. The Playhouse Theatre was transformed into an immersive in-the-round cabaret space, known as the Kit Kat Club. This unique staging will be replicated in New York, with the August Wilson Theatre undergoing a transformation to mirror the intimate Kit Kat Club environment. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-show dining and entertainment in this immersive setting.

The production team is set to announce the Prologue company of ‘Cabaret’ shortly. This group, comprising dancers and musicians, plays a crucial role in welcoming the audience into the world of the Kit Kat Club.

‘Cabaret,’ with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff, is based on John Van Druten’s play ‘I Am a Camera’ and Christopher Isherwood’s ‘Berlin Stories.’ This revival showcases the collaborative efforts of a talented creative team, including scenic and costume designer Tom Scutt, lighting designer Isabelle Byrd, and choreographer Julia Cheng, among others.

The Broadway revival of ‘Cabaret’ not only promises to be a captivating theatrical experience but also continues the legacy of this classic musical, which remains a fixture in London’s West End. With its blend of drama, music, and immersive staging, this production of ‘Cabaret’ is poised to be a highlight of the Broadway season.
