AussieTheatre’s David Allen chats with Lucy Maunder (Rizzo) and Gretel Scarlett (Sandy) at the official Sydney launch of Grease about their starring roles in this iconic musical.
Grease is set to commence performances in Brisbane from Tuesday 27 August and will transfer to Sydney’s Lyric Theatre from October 13, taking the slot initially allocated to the world premiere of Strictly Ballroom.
The show will then move to Melbourne from Thursday 2 January, with an opening night scheduled for January 4. Further tours have not been announced at this stage, although producer John Frost didn’t discount the idea of future seasons.
“We will see what life has to offer us after [the Melbourne season]” he said.

(Ed: Due to a scheduling clash, is with regret we announce that cast members of this show will be unable to attend the wedding of AussieTheatre’s directors Erin James and Matt Edwards, which is a shame. Cause it’s going to be a doozy. That’s showbiz, kids.)
