2012 was an absolutely huge year for AussieTheatre and we owe a massive amount of thanks to our entire community for helping the site grow and thrive.
There were 1,479 articles published on the site in 2012. That is just over 4 a day for each of 2012’s 366 days. This including reviews for 431 shows across Australia. This means there are currently 3,564 articles on the site chronicling the whole gamut of theatre in Australia.
The AussieTheatreForums continued to run hot this year with 127 new topics opened and a total of 2517 posts. If you haven’t visited the forums recently, I suggest you do. I am sure there will be a discussion that will pique your interest.
With the launch of the new site in January 2012 we re-added the ability for readers to leave comments. It is always great to hear from those who feel as passionately about theatre as we do and quite often differing views can open some very interesting debates. We received 775 comments on the site during 2012.
In terms of traffic we received over 660,000 visits from over 350,000 unique people, which is about equal to every resident in Canberra visiting AussieTheatre, 3 1/2 AFL Grand Final crowds or over 600 747’s full of people.
I thought I would leave you with the Top 10 most read articles on AussieTheatre this year and again, thank you all very much.
