An opportunity to become TSO’s permanent, full-time Section Principal Flute.
Key dates
- Applications open: Wednesday 16 June 2026
- Excerpts released for live auditions: Thursday 16 July 2026, or four weeks prior to a confirmed recording date
- Applications close: Thursday 30 July 2026, 4pm
- Final deadline for recorded submissions: Two days following a confirmed recording date, but no later than Thursday 6 August 2026
- Audition dates: Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August 2026
Salary range $99,988 – $104,730 AUD. If applicants are unable to travel to Hobart, the TSO will accept recorded auditions. Applicants must be available for both audition days.
Audition Requirements
All set works to be performed with piano accompaniment
- Mozart Concerto in D major, 1st & 2nd movements with cadenza, AND
- Sancan Sonatine, AND
- All orchestral excerpts
