26 November 2019
Hey there theatre lovers,
It’s time for our weekly round-up of what has been going on in the wonderful world of Aussie theatre.
The team were out and about this week catching up with some amazing creatives to bring you interviews that you won’t find anywhere else. Gabi spoke with Todd McKenney about joining Shrek the Musical, Jennifer caught up with Jeff Calhoun, director of 9 to 5 the Musical and I had the pleasure of sitting with Cirque du Soleil’s Anton Valen & Facundo Gimenez to talk all things clowning. Links to all those stories and more can be found below.
In other news, in response to the feedback we received from our audience engagement questionnaire, we have started to introduce some international news onto AussieTheatre.com. Over 85% of respondents said they would like to see international news on our platform, so we will be widening our search to include the biggest news stories from around the globe.
Finally, we also discovered from your feedback that ‘cost’ is often the main factor preventing you from getting out and seeing more live theatre. Over 90% of respondents said they wanted insider discounts to enable them to see more amazing entertainment, more often. So, in response to this, AussieTheatre is proud to announce our partnership with TakeYourSeats.com.
We will be running a festive advent calendar and each day in the run-up to Christmas we will be announcing a new ticket giveaway or exclusive discount via TakeYourSeats.com. Simply head to AussieTheatre.com each day during December to find out what is hiding behind each door.
Well, that’s all from me, have a great week whatever you get up to and remember to get out and see some great Aussie theatre.
