Sydney’s Hayes Theatre, arguably the most important thing to happen to Australian musical theatre in decades, is set to announce the cast of the Australian premiere of Side Show on Sunday 7 August! But before that, don’t you want to see who’s been submitting audition tapes? We’ve had Krizak and Vilar, Hayes and Cole, and now…. Mulcahy and Harbridge??
Side Show, with with book and lyrics by Bill Russell and music by Henry Krieger, this musical about sisterhood is based on the real-life twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, the highest-paid stars of vaudeville in the 1930s.
This week, Lara Mulcahy (Les Miserables) and Sheridan Harbridge (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown), who recently appeared together at the Hayes in the world premiere of The Detective’s Handbook, are telling us that they were… born this way?
Another shocking reveal in this video: Lara and Sheridan auditioned to play the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network. I think we can all agree it would have been a better film with these two in it.
