Soap – Dazzling, daring and dangerous

SOAP – Brisbane Festival

The Brisbane Festival presented SOAP Tuesday night at the QPAC Playhouse featuring 8 amazing acrobats, an hilarious character actress and an in-house opera singer diva, all set amongst bathtubs.

Directed by Markus Pabst, Maximilian Ramback and produced by Gregg Parks, this Berlin based Circle of Eleven specialises in developing concepts that combine various artistic forms into single dramatic works.

The fantastic cast of performers from Germany, France, Russia were breathtakingly stunning; performing a series of beautiful water soaked acts to an eclectic soundtrack including Mozart, Tool, the Beatles and Mika.

There was hand-balancing, straps, dance trapeze, and aerial hoop, inside a fun loving and outstanding performance which left the audience in stiches of laughter and breathless with joy.

From intense acrobatic skills to beautiful contemporary choreography with a humorous love story between two feet, SOAP has it all.

Wit, skill and joy. 5 stars.
