Pressure Down: Melbourne Fringe

I can’t say what it was that drew me to Pressure Down, the solo debut from Dash and D’Bree’s Hayley Butcher.

Pressure Down – Melbourne Fringe Festival 2016

It wasn’t the new mother stuff – I am not now, nor have I ever been, a new mother (but dreams can come true, don’t give up etc) – and I’ve never had strong opinions on the oeuvre of John Farnham, one way or the other.

I think it’s safe to say that I am not the target market for this piece. That’s not to say that it wasn’t good; the audience on the night I attended clearly had a ball. It is merely to say that it wasn’t this gayboy’s bag.

All that aside, if you are a new mum, ever have been a new mum, or know a new mum, there should be plenty in Pressure Down to enjoy.
