Melbourne Fringe: Vampire Lesbians of Sodom

Vampire Lesbians of Sodom is a very stupid play, and this is a fittingly stupid production of it.

Vampire Lesbians of Sodom. Melbourne Fringe

Charles Busch’s classic drag satire of Hollywood leading-lady tropes looks none of its 30 years in the hands of Brevity Theatre’s cast, who seem to be having almost as much fun as the audience, vamping and camping their way through the all-too-brief 75-minute running time.

If you’re after capital-letter Acting or Theatre, this is probably not going to satisfy, but you would hopefully have gleaned that from the title. This is campy, stupid fun from beginning to end. Bearded ingenue and all.
