Sell Out Tour is an absurdist comedy incorporating aspects of surrealism and physical theatre. The show originated from street theatre performances and developed into the more traditional production by actors Cian Kinsella and Cormac Mohally (both Irish nationals) who play the sometimes fighting, sometimes loving, always entertaining brothers ‘The Lords of Strut’.

Over 75 minutes this duo exhaust themselves performing acrobatic comedy in the roles of 2 Mum-loving, Dad-deprived show-biz types Sean-tastic (Kinsella) and Famous Seamus (Mohally).

The show was well attended and the sweaty heat of a Fringe tent and helicopters flying overhead didn’t dim the response of the audience or the liveliness of the show.

Cian Kinsella says “I discovered circus when I was 24. When I went on stage I was able to make people laugh, even when they weren’t supposed to” and that’s exactly what happened during a comic routine with a ping-pong ball; at the end Sean-tastic spits the last one out of his mouth  – on this particular night it shot its way over the heads of the audience until it slowed and rose before dropping as a smallish middle-aged woman, in trying to avoid the ball’s spittle encrusted casing, slowly leaned sideways until she fell to the ground with a crash and the audience broke out in spontaneous laughter (she wasn’t hurt and ended up laughing herself).

Although that incident was accidental the boys do incorporate audience members into the act with a short Q&A session, Sean-tastic serenading members of the audience looking for his first ever girlfriend and 2 audience members playing an active role at separate stages in the show.

With a plethora of comedy shows during The Fringe, Sell Out Tour represents great value for money (at under $20) and generates plenty of laughs.
