AussieTheatre.com can reveal that the proposed original cast recording of Dr. Zhivago, starring Anthony Warlow, Lucy Maunder and Taneel Van Zyl will not be going ahead as planned.
This news comes fresh from Playbill Merchandising, in the form of an email sent to everyone registered to receive updates about the planned recording.
“Unfortunately the producers of this show have decided not to proceed with this recording. We realise this must be very disappointing for you. The producers are however making available two songs from the show as free downloads from the Doctor Zhivago website – www.drzhivago.com.au.”, Playbill have said.
The two songs available for download are “Now” and “On The Edge of Time”, both featuring Anthony Warlow (Yuri Zhivago) and Lucy Maunder (Lara) – both pictured.
An Australian cast recording of Mary Poppins has already been released after a recording took place over 5 nights at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, and there is speculation that Love Never Dies will also complete an Australian cast recording in the near future.
