Edward Grey.
Remember Smash? The short-lived drama about putting on a Broadway show? The first season focused most heavily on Bombshell, a new Marilyn Monroe musical being written, most delightfully, by characters played by Christian Borle and Debra Messing (the songs for Bombshell were Shaiman/Wittman numbers).
The promising pilot (the quality of the rest of the show is up for debate) featured a song for the two potential leading ladies of the show: Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty), and they performed one of the fictional show’s great show-stoppers: “Let Me Be Your Star.”
Today, lets watch two of our own greats, Ed Grey and Daniel Assetta, both recently of Wicked, take this one home. Team Karen? Team Ivy? Nope. Team Austraia.
Happy Sunday.
