Bradley McCaw, cabaret star and winner of the 2012 Australian Cabaret Showcase, will tour Australia and New York from June 2013 with his new show Cabaret: The Complete Authorised Biography.
The show couples old favourites with original music, and journeys from the conception of the word ‘cabaret’ through to modern-day Broadway stages.
In 1881, a group of young radical writers gathered in a salon in Paris. Here they spent the night sharing ideas, taking turns in-between drinks to serenade each other over wine and candlelight. It was here in the ‘Black Cat’ salon that Cabaret was born.
McCaw will debut his show at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in June, before hitting festivals in Noosa, Melbourne, Ballarat, and Brisbane. He will also head to New York and the NY Musical Theatre Festival.
