Win Tickets to Cat on A Hot Tin Roof: PERTH

Perth readers have the chance to win tickets to see Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning play, Cat on A Hot Tin Roof!

Black Swan State Theatre Company and Queensland Theatre Company present Cat on a Hot Tin Roof this month at the State Theatre Centre of WA.

AussieTheatre.com is thrilled to be giving away a double pass to see the final preview of this show on Tuesday 13 September.

If you like theatre, you will love this production – enter the competition below!

This steamy American classic won a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955 and is one of Tennessee Williams’ most loved plays. This production goes where the famous film, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman, didn’t dare. Director Kate Cherry guides a cast of actors from WA and over east, including Underbelly’s Cheree Cassidy and Tom O’Sullivan, McLeod’s Daughters’ John Stanton and Caitlin Beresford-Ord, Carol Burns, Damon Lockwood, Daniel Murphy, Hugh Parker and Gina Williams. The cast will also include eight WA kids to play the roles of the children, many making their stage debuts.

The Pollitt family has gathered at their plantation home in the Mississippi Delta, ostensibly to celebrate the birthday of patriarch and tycoon “Big Daddy”.

However, cracks are appearing in the family’s veneer: no one has told Big Daddy that he is dying of cancer, but the scheming over his inheritance has already begun. His son Brick, the former golden child, is battling with repressed emotions and his desperate wife Maggie, and has taken to the bottle.

In the course of an evening full of scheming and deceit, secrets and lies leave every single one of the family members reeling.

Running for approximately 2 hrs 45 mins (including interval), the season has already been extended in Perth. Now running from 10 September – 2 October 2011, Perth audiences have more opportunities to see this wonderful play.

Warning: Occasional coarse language and smoking of herbal cigars onstage.
