Wicked: Melbourne welcomes the Witches once more

Tonight, Melbourne will once again host the opening night the musical WICKED, which is returning to the Regent Theatre nearly 6 years after its premiere season in 2008.

Starring Australia’s original Glinda (Lucy Durack), Jemma Rix as Elphaba and Reg Livermore as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, this production returns to Australia as part of the 10th anniversary tour of Stephen Schwartz’s blockbuster musical.

The show will play limited seasons in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as part of the 10th anniversary tour, taking this particular production into its 7th year in Australia/Asia.

  • Went to see Wicked on Sunday night (and it is amazing) but I was a little disappointed Maggie Kirkpatrick wasn't playing Madame Morrible. Do you know if Maggie will be doing any of the Melbourne shows (we'd love to go back and see it again when she's in it). I hope she's not unwell.

    • I went in May and Maggie wasn't there but was there again in July and she was back...
I love Jemma, apparently she doesn't do the matinees. I saw your post while trying to google to see if she does the Sunday show
