Top director killed in crash

One of Australia’s promising prolific directors and NIDA graduate Lucien Savron, 43, was killed instantly in a car accident in Milbrook earlier this month. 

One of Australia’s promising prolific directors and NIDA graduate Lucien Savron, 43, was killed instantly in a car accident in Milbrook earlier this month. 

A crowded memorial ceremony and wake was held for Mr Savron at the ABC Gallery in Collingwood, on Saturday, May 14 with many theatrical, art and film identities present including Liz Jones (La Mama Theatre), Ned Jones (La Mama), Robert Chuter (Fly-On-The-Wall Theatre), Michael Kantor, John-Paul Hussey, Marcus Graham, Emma de Clario, Maya Stange, Russell Walsh, Cr. Serge Thomann and many more.

Lucien worked for many companies including Black Swan Theatre Company, La Mama Theatre, Fly-On-The-Wall Theatre, Chapel Off Chapel, Melbourne Writer’s Theatre amongst others.

  • It wasn’t an accident. I found the original manuscript for Animal Kingdom that he’d worked so hard on, but unfortunately the director made it a flop and his peer David Michod stole the entire thing and made a fortune. I hope it haunts him forever that Lucien said goodbye to the boys and to take care of my brother before purposefully driving into a tree because of David.
