The Genesian Theatre Company is proud to present a moving new production of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning classic TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, opening this weekend at their Rozelle theatre.
Set in 1930s Alabama, the story follows young Scout Finch as her father, the honourable lawyer Atticus Finch, defends a Black man falsely accused of a terrible crime. As tensions rise in the seemingly peaceful town of Maycomb, Scout’s journey becomes a powerful exploration of prejudice, compassion and moral courage.
Through Scout’s eyes, Harper Lee’s iconic story comes vividly to life on stage — a powerful and enduring tale of justice, compassion and moral courage. Its themes continue to resonate strongly with modern audiences.
Director Theo Hatzistergos :
The play remains deeply relevant because of its themes of empathy, truth and standing up for what is right, even when it comes at personal cost.

Featuring a talented cast and creative team, this new Genesian Theatre Company production brings warmth and emotional depth to one of literature’s most celebrated works, delivering a moving and thought-provoking theatrical experience for today’s audiences.
TO KILL A MTO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD is playing from Saturday, (preview Friday, 29 May).
