Directed by Kim Hardwick (The Hatpin), Time Stands Still follows the homecoming of a war photojournalist, Sarah Goodwin, after being injured in a car bombing. The play explores the addictiveness of documenting the atrocity of war, and when recently-home Sarah and her journalist partner are visited by a photo editor friend and his much younger girlfriend, the reality of a life at war and the reality of conventional life and domesiticity are both brought into focus.
Margulies’ play examines how, after living a dangerous life of extremes, just how much is required of two people building a life together away from the distractions of war.
With a strong cast featuring Rebecca Rocheford Davies (Dinner With Friends), Richard Sydenham (Murderers), Noel Hodda (The God Committee) and Harriet Dyer (Pygmalion), this play, billed by the New York Times as a “quietly powerful drama” that “crackles with bright with and intelligence,” is not a show to be missed.
TIME STANDS STILL will play at Darlinghurst Theatre, 19 Greenknowe Ave Potts Point
