Tim McFarlane to be CEO of Ambassador Theatre Group Asia/Pacific

Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), the UK’s largest theatre owner/operator and producing group, has announced that Tim McFarlane will be joining ATG in a newly created role: CEO for ATG Asia-Pacific.

Tim McFarlane

Already an active producer in Australia, ATG has produced numerous recent shows including The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, and Legally Blonde, which is currently playing in Sydney before a Brisbane transfer next year.

ATG now intend to replicate their UK business model across the Asia-Pacific region: combining theatre ownership and management with producing activing and marketing/ticketing operations.

This expansion has the opportunity to create an unrivalled international touring circuit, which should also include increased activity in North America, where ATG has a New York office. A strong operation in Australia, with our established theatrical market and high quality talent pool, both artistic and technical, could provide a platform for growth across the Asia-Pacific region and further internationally.

Tim McFarlane is currently the Managing Director of The Really Useful Company Asia Pacific where he is responsible for The Really Useful Group’s (RUG) activities in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Tim has enjoyed 18 very successful years with RUG.
