Australia’s oldest theatre, the Theatre Royal in Tasmania, is set for a major upgrade.
The ABC reports that management wants to build a new performance space and a car park.
The theatre’s Tim Munro says they are putting together a business case.
“We’ll soon be starting an architectral study to look at the sort of volumes and spaces, not so much the design issues,” he said.
“I’m pretty enthusiastic about it and I think there’s strong public and support from the government also.
